If you've had visions of your perfect nose, chin, or stomach, dream no more, there's an app for that! Actually, there's more than one application that lets you view what you would look like if you underwent procedures such as rhinoplasty, chin implants, or liposuction.
BodyPlastika, designed for the iPhone, allows you to see pictures of what you would look like if you got certain cosmetic procedures including a nose job and cheek implants, among several others. You can even mold areas of your body like your stomach, back and thighs to simulate the effects of liposuction. Here's how it works: You upload a picture of yourself, and then select a tool -- grow, shrink or push-- to work on the area you want improved. Just this week, another South Florida surgeon launched a similar plastic surgery application for the iPhone, iSurgeon, which allows you to visualize what you would look like after undergoing a certain procedure.
These applications can provide resources to patients, and can be done in the privacy of your home, but remember, the only way to ensure the best results is by speaking with your plastic surgeons and discussing your goals. Each person is different, and some say, these applications contribute to unrealistic expectations for patients.
