Illegal Butt Augmentation Kills Woman

Illegal Butt Augmentation Kills Woman

A 22-year old California woman recently died after getting butt implants illegally, underscoring the importance of always choosing a board certified plastic surgeon.

Here's a few things to remember when you're considering Miami plastic surgery:

-Make sure your surgeon is board certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgery

-Ask your doctor about potential risks associated with your cosmetic procedure

-Ask for referrals. Find out from friends and colleagues who've had surgery with your doctor what their experience was like.

When it comes to plastic surgery, you should never take short cuts. That mistake proved deadly for Mayra Lissette Contreras, who instead of using a board certified surgeon, opted for getting silicone injections in her buttocks from two women operating out of their home. Some people turn to these "underground cosmetic surgeons" because it's fast, cheap and discreet. However, besides having no medical training, these people don't understand dosage, or even cleaning surgical tools. Police are on the hunt for the two women, but for Contreras, it cost her her life.

Sadly, this is not the first time this happens. In 2008, the CDC issued a warning against undergoing cosmetic surgery by unlicensed providers after three North Carolina women developed kidney failure as a result of illegal filler injections in their buttocks.

All of Coral Gables Cosmetic Center's surgeons are board certified, and a few are even double board certified. Miami Buttock augmentation at a great price.
