Vaginal Rejuvenation in Miami
Vaginal rejuvenation at CG Cosmetic Surgery in Miami includes vaginoplasty, a surgery that tightens the vaginal canal, and non-surgical in-office options, with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Moises Salama. Women usually look into it after childbirth or with age, when the vagina feels looser. Your consultation is private, and your price is confirmed in a written quote after it.
What Is Vaginal Rejuvenation?
"Vaginal rejuvenation" is a general term for treatments that address a vagina that feels looser or wider than before. The most common cause is stretching of the vaginal muscles and tissues during vaginal childbirth; hormonal changes and age also play a part. Some women notice less sensation or friction during sex, or feel that tampons do not stay in place as well.
At CG Cosmetic there are two paths. Vaginoplasty is surgery that tightens the vaginal canal and the opening. Non-surgical treatments are done in the office with little or no downtime, for milder concerns. Vaginal rejuvenation is different from labiaplasty, which reshapes the labia; the two are sometimes done together.

Vaginoplasty: Surgical Vaginal Tightening
Vaginoplasty tightens the vaginal canal by bringing the stretched muscles and tissues back together and removing extra lining. It is often combined with a repair of the area between the vagina and the anus (perineoplasty), which can be stretched or scarred after childbirth. Dr. Salama plans the amount of tightening with you so the result feels natural. The anesthesia plan for your procedure is explained at your consultation.
Vaginoplasty tends to be a good fit for women who:
- Feel vaginal looseness after one or more vaginal deliveries, or with age
- Have finished having children, since a later vaginal delivery can stretch the area again
- Are in good general health, are not pregnant and, ideally, do not smoke
- Have realistic expectations about what surgery can change
Non-Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation
Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation is done in the office, without incisions, and most women go back to their routine the same day or the next. It is meant for milder looseness, may need more than one session, and its effect is more modest and less lasting than surgery, so maintenance sessions may be suggested. At your consultation Dr. Salama explains the non-surgical treatment CG Cosmetic offers, how many sessions are usually planned and what you can expect.
Non-surgical treatments are not a substitute for medical care. If you have urinary leakage, pain during sex, vaginal dryness from menopause or any other symptom, talk to your gynecologist so the cause can be evaluated.
Surgery or Non-Surgical: Which Is Right for Me?
The choice depends on how much looseness you have, whether the muscles and the perineum are stretched, and how much downtime you can take. Surgery gives a more noticeable and longer-lasting change; non-surgical treatment avoids incisions but works best for mild cases. Dr. Salama examines you in a private room, where you can ask for a female staff member to be present, and explains which option fits your anatomy and your goals.
Vaginoplasty Recovery
Recovery varies, and Dr. Salama gives you written instructions. In general terms, after vaginoplasty:
- First days: swelling, soreness and some spotting are expected. Rest, use cold packs as directed and avoid sitting for long periods.
- About the first week: many women return to desk work when cleared. Walking is encouraged; heavy lifting is not.
- About six to eight weeks: most women are cleared for sex, tampons, swimming and intense exercise around this time, but only when your surgeon confirms it.
- Following months: the last swelling settles and the tissues soften.
After non-surgical treatment, most women resume normal activities right away, and your provider tells you how long to wait before sex. Call the clinic right away if you notice heavy bleeding, fever, a bad-smelling discharge, severe pain or trouble urinating.
Vaginal Rejuvenation Risks
Vaginoplasty is surgery, and like any surgery it has risks. They include:
- Bleeding, bruising, swelling and pain
- Infection or separation of the wound
- Pain or discomfort during sex, including from a canal that is made too tight
- Changes in sensation
- Scarring
- Rarely, injury to nearby organs such as the bladder or rectum
- Reactions to anesthesia
Non-surgical treatments have fewer risks, but they can cause temporary discomfort, irritation, spotting or discharge, and rarely burns or scarring. Dr. Salama reviews the risks that apply to you before you decide. Results vary.

What is the difference between vaginoplasty and labiaplasty?
Vaginoplasty tightens the vaginal canal and opening. Labiaplasty reduces or reshapes the labia minora, the inner lips of the vulva. Some women have both at the same time.
How long is recovery after vaginoplasty?
Many women return to desk work in about a week when cleared. Sex, tampons, swimming and intense exercise are usually avoided for about six to eight weeks, until your surgeon confirms you can resume them.
Is non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation as effective as surgery?
No. Non-surgical treatment is meant for milder looseness, may need several sessions and its effect is more modest and less lasting. Vaginoplasty gives a more noticeable, longer-lasting change.
Can I have vaginal rejuvenation before having more children?
It is usually best to wait until you have finished having children, because a later vaginal delivery can stretch the area again. Dr. Salama discusses the timing with you.
